Heart Announces 2025 Volleyball Awards & All-Conference Selections
KANSAS CITY, Mo. - The Heart of America Athletic Conference is proud to announce the 2025 Heart Volleyball All-Conference teams and postseason award winners.
The Heart head coaches selected the following postseason awards and 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and Honorable Mention All-Conference teams.
2025 Heart Player of the Year – Gabi Jakubowska – Missouri Baptist University
Jakubowska picked up 484 kills on the season to average 4.14 kills per set. She hit .257 on the season, while also tallying 63 service aces. On the defensive side, she had 235 digs and 90 blocks for the Spartans who won the Heart of America Tournament Championship.
2025 Heart Attacker of the Year – Mariana de Carvalho – Grand View University
Mariana de Carvalho led the Vikings with 425 kills on the season, averaging 4.62 kills per set, while hitting .304. She also tallied 22 assists on the season and 42 service aces to lead the Vikings to a Heart Regular Season Championship.
2025 Heart Co-Defender of the Year – Fernanda Perini – Missouri Baptist University
Perini tallied an astounding 156 blocks on the season with 14 being solo blocks and 142 being block assists. She also had 249 kills on the year and hit .406 as the Spartans claimed the Heart of America Conference Tournament Championship.
2025 Heart Co-Defender of the Year – Emily Mathis – MidAmerica Nazarene University
Mathis totaled 550 digs throughout the 2025 season, averaging 5.39 digs per set. This led the Pioneers to a 21-8 record overall and a 14-4 record in Heart of America play. Her best game of the season came against Mount Mercy when she had 33 digs.
2025 Heart Setter of the Year – Wren VanCleave – Benedictine College
VanCleave was a dominant setter for the Ravens this season, as she tallied 1,071 assists which was just over 10 assists per set. She also picked up 24 service aces and had 60 kills on the season.
2025 Heart Freshman of the Year – Valentina Navarro – Missouri Baptist University
Navarro was a force in her first season, tallying 1,118 assists at a rate of 10.45 assists per set. She also had 46 service aces to help the Spartans to a Heart of America Conference Tournament Championship.
2025 Heart Coach of the Year – Claire Ochs – Missouri Baptist University
Coach Ochs and the Spartans posted an overall record of 29-5 on the season, going 17-1 in Heart of America play. They totaled 1,660 kills, 1,553 assists, 300 service aces, 1,614 digs and 269 blocks on the year as the Spartans came away with the Heart of America Conference Tournament Championship.
2025 Heart Assistant Coach of the Year – Izabella Ceratti – Park University
Coach Ceratti and the Pirates had a strong season, going 13-5 in Heart play, and reaching the Heart Tournament Championship game. The Pirates had a total of 1,452 kills, 1,367 assists, 192 service aces, 2,016 digs and 213 blocks on the season.
