Heart Women’s Volleyball Players of the Week, Presented by Tarkett Sports – Week 1

The Heart of America Athletic Conference is pleased to announce the Heart of America Women's Volleyball Players of the Week, presented by Tarkett Sports.

Attacker of the Week

Gabi Jakubowska of No. 19 ranked Missouri Baptist has earned the Heart's first Attacker of the Week award. Playing in 4 matches, Jakubowska helped lead MBU to three top-20 wins, with 95 kills and a hitting percentage of .276, for an average of 5 kills per set. She started the week on Wednesday, putting away 29 and 26 kills against No. 16 Viterbo and No. 9 St. Thomas respectively. Finishing the week, she also had 21 kills and five aces in a big five-set win over No. 3 Corban.

Setter of the Week

Silvia Albani of (RV) Park (Mo.) has earned the Heart's first Setter of the Week award. Albani helped the Pirates to a 3-1 record on the week, racking up nearly 11 assists per set for a total of 164 assists in four matches. She also averaged 2.67 digs per set, with 16 digs coming against Wayland Baptist on her way to a double-double.

Defender of the Week

Fernanda Perini of No. 19 ranked Missouri Baptist has earned the Heart's first Defender of the Week award. Perini played in all six matches in which the Spartans posted a record of 5-1. In those six matches, she tallied 23 total blocks, with 11 of those blocks coming in the five-set win over No. 3 Corban on Friday.
