Heart Women's Outdoor Track & Field Athletes of the Week Announced - August 21
The Heart of America Athletic Conference announced its Heart Women's Outdoor Track & Field Athlete of the Week awards on Monday afternoon.
Culver-Stockton's Delaney Straus was named the Heart Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week, while Victoria Lotz of MidAmerica Nazarene was named the Heart Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week.
Straus competed at the Culver-Stockton Invitational last week and placed first out of 10 athletes in the women's 400m hurdles with her time of 1:02.56.
She hit the NAIA 'B' Standard of qualification for the NAIA Outdoor Track & Field National Championships.
Her time in the 400m hurdles was a school record and leads the Heart. She also placed fifth in the 100m hurdles in a time of 15.71.
Lotz competed at the Kansas Relays last week and won the hammer throw with a throw of 59.02m.
That throw was the fifth best in NAIA history and was a school record. She also hit NAIA 'A' Standard of qualification for the NAIA Outdoor Track & Field National Championships.
