Grand View Sweeps Heart Outdoor Track & Field Weekly Honors
Two members of the Grand View University women’s outdoor track & field program swept this week’s Heart of America Athletic Conference Outdoor Track & Field Athlete of the Week awards, as Morgan Lawson was selected the Heart Women’s Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week, while teammate Madison Green earned the Heart Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week honor.
Two members of the Grand View University women's outdoor track & field program swept this week's Heart of America Athletic Conference Outdoor Track & Field Athlete of the Week awards, as Morgan Lawson was selected the Heart Women's Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week, while teammate Madison Green earned the Heart Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week honor.
Lawson won the 3,000m steeplechase at the Sioux City Relays, running a Heart best time of 11:14.36 to take home first place.
She also hit the NAIA automatic qualification for the National Championships in May and broke a school record.
Green shined at the Concordia Invite, as she won the hammer throw and hit the NAIA automatic national qualifying mark with her toss of 55.34m, which ranks No. 1 in the Heart and No. 2 in the NAIA.
The West Des Moines, Iowa native also placed second in the shot put with a NAIA 'B' standard mark of 13.47m.
