Heart Women’s Soccer Players of the Week – November 1
The Heart of America Athletic Conference announced its Week 10 edition of the Heart Women’s Soccer Player of the Week awards on Monday afternoon, as No. 5 ranked Central Methodist University’s Andrea Villar earned her fourth Heart Offensive Player of the Week, while Culver-Stockton’s Mackenzie Frizzell earned her first Heart Defensive Player of the Week of 2021.
The Heart of America Athletic Conference announced its Week 10 edition of the Heart Women's Soccer Player of the Week awards on Monday afternoon, as No. 5 ranked Central Methodist University's Andrea Villar earned her fourth Heart Offensive Player of the Week, while Culver-Stockton's Mackenzie Frizzell earned her first Heart Defensive Player of the Week of 2021.
Villar also captured the award on September 27, September 20 and September 6th. Last week, the Eagles went 2-0 with a 2-1 win over No. 8 Oklahoma Wesleyan and a 6-0 road win at Park.
In the win over OKWU, Villar connected on a free kick from 20-yards out with a minute remaining to score the game winner.
She also scored two goals in the victory over Park. The Eagles have earned the No. 1 seed in the upcoming Heart Conference Tournament, as they will host No. 8 Clarke in the Quarterfinals on Saturday evening at 6 pm.
Frizzell and the Wildcats earned the No. 4 seed in the upcoming Conference Tournament, as they went 2-0 last week with a 3-0 win over William Penn and a 1-0 upset victory over No. 17 Missouri Valley.
She helped register the two shutouts with two saves against William Penn and six against Missouri Valley.
The Culver-Stockton Wildcats will host the No. 5 Baker Wildcats in the Heart Quarterfinals at 6 pm.
