Heart Women’s Soccer Players of the Week Features Two First Time Winners in 2021
The Heart of America Athletic Conference announced its Heart Women’s Soccer Players of the Week on Monday and two first time award winners in 2021 highlight this week’s announcement, as Angela Lloret of Culver-Stockton captured the Heart Offensive Player of the Week honor and Zoe Jessen of No. 5 ranked Central Methodist is the Heart Defensive Player of the Week.
The Heart of America Athletic Conference announced its Heart Women's Soccer Players of the Week on Monday and two first time award winners in 2021 highlight this week's announcement, as Angela Lloret of Culver-Stockton captured the Heart Offensive Player of the Week honor and Zoe Jessen of No. 5 ranked Central Methodist is the Heart Defensive Player of the Week.
Lloret had three goals and three assists for the Wildcats, as they went 2-0 last week with a 9-0 win over Iowa Wesleyan and a 6-2 conference victory over Park.
The junior from Alicante, Spain had one goal and an assist in the win over Iowa Wesleyan, then followed that up with two goals and an assist in the victory over the Pirates. The Wildcats trailed Park, 2-0, then Lloret sparked the offense.
Jessen becomes the third Eagle to capture this award this season, joining teammates Alicia Zamora and Laura Riesenbeck.
Jessen helped lead the Eagle defense to its fifth and sixth consecutive shut out, as they defeated Grand View, 3-0 and Graceland 5-0 last week.
The senior from League City, Texas also scored a goal in the win over Grand View.
