BACK-TO-BACK NATIONAL CHAMPIONS – BENEDICTINE WOMEN’S LACROSSE
Benedictine University women's lacrosse captured its second consecutive NAIA National Championship on Friday evening, defeating SCAD Savannah (Ga.) 18-10 in the 2026 NAIA Women's Lacrosse National Championship game at Jack Allen Complex in Decatur, Alabama.
The Ravens completed a perfect 19-0 season and secured back-to-back national titles behind a dominant offensive performance and strong possession play. Benedictine outshot SCAD Savannah 38-24, won the draw-control battle 18-12 and forced 19 turnovers in the championship victory.
CHAMPIONSHIP GAME RECAP
Benedictine established control early as Lorelei Siegel and Tournament MVP Kaylen Moore scored within the opening minutes to give the Ravens a quick 2-0 lead. SCAD Savannah answered with a goal from McKinsey Brown, but Benedictine closed the opening quarter with goals from Mackenna Hill and Siegel to take a 4-1 advantage.
The Ravens continued to build momentum in the second quarter. Siegel scored early in the period before Moore converted a free-position opportunity and Alexa Hildenbrand added another score to send Benedictine into halftime leading 8-3.
SCAD attempted to rally in the third quarter, cutting the deficit to 9-5, but Benedictine responded with goals from Moore and Siegel before extending the lead with consecutive man-up scores late in the quarter.
Any remaining momentum for the Bees disappeared early in the fourth quarter as the Ravens used a decisive 5-0 run to pull away and secure the national championship.
Siegel finished with a game-high six goals, while Moore added four goals and four assists. Hill contributed three goals and two assists, while goalkeeper Molly Owen recorded seven saves.
CHAMPIONSHIP KEY NOTES
The 2026 meeting between Benedictine and SCAD marks the seventh time the two teams have met with the Bees holding a 4-2 series lead. The previous two meetings have both came in the NAIA tournament during the semifinals. They met in 2025 where Benedictine earned a 25-11 win and before that in 2022 where Benedictine won 15-14. SCAD beat Benedictine 18-12 in 2019 in the NAIA National Invitational Championship Game.
This year, Benedictine completed a perfect 19-0 season and claimed the program's second consecutive NAIA National Championship.
Tournament MVP Kaylen Moore recorded four goals and four assists in the championship game, while Lorelei Siegel led all scorers with six goals.

Benedictine has won back-to-back NAIA Women's Lacrosse National Championships in 2025 and 2026, finishing the 2026 season undefeated at 19-0.
