Cornett, Taaffe Selected Heart Women's Lacrosse Players of the Week
The Heart of America Athletic Conference announced its Heart Women's Lacrosse Weekly awards on Monday afternoon.
Lydia Cornett of No. 8 nationally ranked Missouri Baptist was selected the Heart Offensive Player of the Week, while Abby Taaffe of St. Ambrose captured the Heart Defensive Player of the Week award.
Cornett broke the MBU record for most points in a game with 17 in a 25-16 win over Ottawa last week, as the senior scored 11 goals and had six assists.
She also collected two ground balls and had 13 draw controls.
Taaffe and the Bees won two games last week, a 17-11 victory over Missouri Valley in the regular season finale and a 13-12 overtime win over Culver-Stockton in the Quarterfinals of the Heart Conference Tournament.
In the two contests, she collected 12 total ground balls and scored a goal.
