Leah Johnson of No. 2 CMU Earns Heart Player of the Week

For the third time this season, Leah Johnson of No. 2 nationally ranked Central Methodist was selected the Heart of America Athletic Conference Women’s Basketball Player of the Week.

For the third time this season, Leah Johnson of No. 2 nationally ranked Central Methodist was selected the Heart of America Athletic Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week.

The Eagles continued their perfect season last week, with home wins over Evangel, 91-61, and Mount Mercy, 85-51.

She scored a career-high 29 points in the win over Mount Mercy and finished with a double-double with 15 rebounds.

For the week, the Ewing, N.J. native averaged 24.5 points and 15 rebounds.

The Eagles are a perfect 25-0 overall and 19-0 in the Heart. With a victory on Monday night, the Eagles will capture the Heart regular season title outright.
