Baker, Holbert Selected Heart Softball Players of the Week

The Heart of America Athletic Conference announced its Heart Softball Player of the Week awards on Monday afternoon.

Kira Baker of Baker University was selected the Heart Pitcher of the Week, while Samantha Holbert of (RV) Grand View was named the Heart Player of the Week. 

In six games last week, Holbert hit .471. In a double header against No. 7 ranked Northwestern, she had six total RBI's and hit a walk-off in game two.

Kira Baker allowed just one hit both of her outings last week, throwing a one-hitter against Missouri Valley for her seventh shutout of the season.

Against Peru State, she came in, in relief and threw five innings, throwing eight strikeouts.
