Baker Earns Fourth Heart Pitcher of the Week, Oots Earns First of 2023
For the fourth time this season, No. 4 nationally ranked Baker University’s Kira Baker earned the Heart Pitcher of the Week award, while Kelena Oots of No. 21 ranked Central Methodist was selected the Heart Player of the Week.

Oots batted .533 on the week, as the Eagles swept MidAmerica Nazarene, 7-0 and 9-1 and defeated Graceland, 4-2 and 8-2.
In the four games, she went 8-for-15 at the plate with eight hits, including a double and two RBI's. She also scored five runs and had four stolen bases.
Baker went 2-1 on the week. In her two victories, she threw a no-hitter and a perfect game. In her 19.1 innings in the circle, the freshman had 41 strikeouts and allowed just one earned run.
