First Heart Men's Volleyball Players of the Week of 2025 Announced

The Heart of America Athletic Conference announced its first Heart Men's Volleyball Player of the Week awards of the 2025 season on Monday afternoon.

Luca Hasse of No. 10 ranked Missouri Valley earned the Heart Attacker of the Week honor, while Ben Brinkman of No. 5 ranked William Penn earned the Heart Defender of the Week and Rafael Obrusnik of No. 3 Grand View secured the Heart Setter of the Week.

Hasse led the Vikings to a perfect 4-0 week with wins over Simpson (Calif.), 3-1, No. 7 Benedictine-Mesa (Ariz.), 3-1, Jamestown (N.D.), 3-0 and Viterbo (Wisc.), 3-0.

In those four matches, the junior had 30 total kills, averaging 3.33 kills per set and has six service aces.

Obrusnik had 71 assists for the Vikings last week in their two matches against two ranked teams. The Vikings fell to No. 9 ranked Lawrence Tech (Mich.), 3-0, but bounced back with a 3-0 win over No. 15 ranked Indiana Tech.

The sophomore averaged 11.83 assists and recorded 11 total digs.

Brinkman and the Statesmen also played No. 15 Indiana Tech, winning 3-0, but fell to No. 9 Lawrenceh Tech, 3-1.

In those two matches, the freshman had 14 total blocks, six against ITU and eight against LTU.
