Ceondae Adams, Taylor Bottomley Selected for Heart Men’s Outdoor Track Weekly Honors
The Heart of America Athletic Conference announced its Heart Men’s Outdoor Track & Field weekly awards on Monday afternoon, as Central Methodist University’s Taylor Bottomley was named the Heart Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week and Ceondae Adams of Mount Mercy collected the Heart Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week award.
The Heart of America Athletic Conference announced its Heart Men's Outdoor Track & Field weekly awards on Monday afternoon, as Central Methodist University's Taylor Bottomley was named the Heart Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week and Ceondae Adams of Mount Mercy collected the Heart Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week award.
Adams won two events at the Mustang Invitational last week, as the freshman took home first place in the men's 200m dash in a time of 21.42 and hit the A standard in the event. That time was also a personal best and school record and leads the Heart. The Cedar Rapids, Iowa native also won the 110m hurdles in a time of 14.77.
Bottomley also won this award back on March 28. This past week he competed in three events at the Wildcat Open, the shot put, discus and hammer throw.
Bottomley finished second in the shot put with a mark of 15.80m, he also took fourth in the hammer throw with a toss of 47.40m. In the discus, the senior won the event with a mark of 52.02m, which also hit the NAIA 'A' standard qualifying him for the NAIA National Championships.
