William Penn Advances to NAIA Men’s Lacrosse Semifinals
The Heart of America Athletic Conference will be represented in the semifinal round of the 2026 NAIA Men's Lacrosse National Championship after William Penn University earned a dramatic 12-11 double-overtime victory over Reinhardt University on Tuesday afternoon in Decatur, Ala.
William Penn improved to 13-3 on the season after overcoming an early deficit and surviving a late Reinhardt comeback. The Statesmen trailed 4-1 after the opening quarter before responding with a dominant stretch that saw WPU outscore the Eagles 10-1 across the second and third quarters to take an 11-5 lead into the fourth.
Reinhardt answered with six straight goals in the final quarter to force overtime, but the Statesmen secured the win in double overtime when Kenny Bohney scored the game-winning goal with 2:51 remaining off an assist from Matt Scott.
