Matthew Castleberry of Grand View Earns Final Heart Player of the Week Award of 2024

The Heart of America Athletic Conference is excited to announce the final Heart of America Athletic Conference Esports League of Legends Player of the Week winner of the 2024 season, as Matthew Castleberry of Grand View University earned the honor.

Grand View ended the regular season with a victory over Central Methodist and finished the regular season undefeated, winning the Heart regular season conference championship banner.

The Vikings now enter the Heart Conference Tournament as the No. 1 seed. The Heart Esports League of Legends Conference Tournament will take place this Saturday, October 19 at Park University.

The event is a double elimination tournament and each game is a best-of-three format.

Also competing is No. 2 Culver-Stockton, No. 3 Park and No. 4 Central Methodist.

Head coach Nathan Ragsdell had this to say about Castleberry:

"Matthew had a monstrous performance versus Central Methodist. As a jungler, he out damaged the rest of the lobby and a terrifying Elise performance. Everyone will be watching Castle as he heads into playoffs to see if he can keep this momentum going."
