Heart Baseball Players of the Week – March 21, 2022

The Heart of America Athletic Conference announced its Baseball Players of the Week on Monday afternoon, as Robbie Merced of Central Methodist University was named the Heart Baseball Player of the Week, while Nathan Torres of MidAmerica Nazarene was selected the Heart Pitcher of the Week.

Merced had an incredible week at the plate, as the junior hit seven home runs in 16 at bats and knocked in 20 RBI's.

He had four multi-hit games and walked seven times. He posted a staggering 2.125 slugging percentage on the week, as the Eagles went 6-0.

Torres struck out 11 of the 13 outs he recorded last week, and picked up two saves in 4.1 innings of work.

In his three appearances, he allowed just two hits and no earned runs.
