Benedictine's Chase Sucharski Named Heart A.O. Duer Scholarship Award Nominee
The A.O. Duer Scholarship Award honors outstanding junior student-athletes participating in NAIA competition who excel in scholarship, leadership, character, and citizenship.
Leadership has been the foundation of Chase Sucharski's impact at Benedictine College. The junior mechanical engineering major has paired outstanding leadership with academic excellence, maintaining a 3.925 cumulative GPA while earning Dean's List, President's List, and Chi Alpha Sigma National College Athlete Honor Society recognition. On the field, Sucharski helped lead the Ravens to back-to-back Heart South Division football championships while also serving as president of the Benedictine Student-Athlete Leadership Team.
Away from competition, Sucharski has distinguished himself through a commitment to serving others. He organizes monthly nursing home visits for fellow student-athletes and regularly volunteers through High 5 Fridays, community cleanup projects, freshman welcome events, and the International Forest of Friendship. Respected by coaches and teammates alike, Sucharski consistently demonstrates the character, integrity, and servant leadership that embody the values of the A.O. Duer Scholarship Award.
As the Heart of America Athletic Conference recipient, Chase Sucharski will represent the conference as its nominee for the corresponding NAIA national award, with national recipients to be announced by the NAIA at a later date.
