Central Methodist's Lauren Berger Named Heart A.O. Duer Scholarship Award Nominee

The A.O. Duer Scholarship Award honors outstanding junior student-athletes participating in NAIA competition who excel in scholarship, leadership, character, and citizenship.

Excellence has become the standard for Lauren Berger throughout her career at Central Methodist. Carrying a perfect 4.00 cumulative GPA as a biology major, Berger has balanced elite academic performance with a key role on one of the Heart Conference's premier women's soccer programs. A two-time NAIA Scholar-Athlete and two-time CMU Athletic Director's Honor Roll selection, she helped the Eagles capture two Heart Conference championships, reach three Heart Conference Tournament finals, and make three consecutive NAIA National Tournament appearances while competing in 48 career matches as a defender.

Berger's impact reaches far beyond the classroom and the field through her leadership and commitment to serving others. She serves as a campus leader through the Fellowship of Christian Athletes and is recognized for her integrity, selfless leadership, and servant's heart. From volunteering with the Howard County recreational soccer league to participating in a mission trip to Guatemala, Berger consistently demonstrates the character, citizenship, and leadership that define the A.O. Duer Scholarship Award.

As the Heart of America Athletic Conference recipient, Lauren Berger will represent the conference as its nominee for the corresponding NAIA national award, with national recipients to be announced by the NAIA at a later date.
