WILL I BE CHARGED A SEASON OF COMPETITION THIS YEAR?
The NAIA Council of Presidents recently announced that fall and winter athletes for the 2020-21 academic year will not be charged a season of competition. View the full announcement here. (UPDATED 11/05/20)
WILL THERE BE CHANGES TO THE WINTER & SPRING SEASONS?
As of right now, there are no changes. The NAIA and Heart Task Force are monitoring the current COVID-19 situation and will provide an update if any changes are made.
WHAT IS THE TESTING PROTOCOL WITHIN THE HEART OF AMERICA?
Each member institution has committed to testing all student-athletes at least once between their arrival date and the first date of competition at the start of each semester.
IS THE CONFERENCE MANDATING FACE COVERINGS?
Yes. Everyone except athletes actively participating on the field/court will be required to wear a face covering. This includes all game day personnel, coaches, athletes on the sidelines, and spectators at all indoor and outdoor venues.
WHAT IS THE HEART MATRIX?
The Heart Matrix is a platform that was developed to serve as an all-inclusive guide for fans. The platform has information related to live stat links, live stream links, online ticketing links, and each institution's current spectator protocols.
WILL I BE ABLE TO WATCH MY STUDENT-ATHLETE COMPETE IN-PERSON?
The COP has given each member institution the autonomy to determine capacity limits and spectator procedures with the guidance of their administration, local government, and CDC guidelines.
