Two First Time Winners in 2023 Highlight Heart Softball Players of the Week

The Heart of America Athletic Conference announced its Heart Softball Players of the Week on Monday.

Jordyn Ball of No. 17 nationally ranked Central Methodist University earned the Heart Pitcher of the Week, while Rachel Anderson of Grand View earned the Heart Player of the Week award.

Ball went 3-0 last week, with Heart wins over William Penn, Peru State and Park. Each victory she threw a complete game shutout, including a no-hitter against Peru State. In 19 innings in the circle, the freshman allowed just six hits and struck out 16 batters.

Anderson and the Vikings went 5-1 last week and the junior hit .526, going 10-of-19 at the plate. She hit three home runs and knocked in 10 RBI.
